Privacy Policy

Kasset is built so that this policy can be short. We do not collect any data about you, your music, your books or your playlists. Everything happens on your iPhone. This page exists so the contract is explicit.

What the app collects

Nothing. The privacy label in the App Store reads “Data Not Collected”. That is accurate.

• No name, email, phone number or other contact information.
• No analytics, no crash reporters that phone home, no usage-tracking SDK, no advertising identifiers.
• No account. There is no login, because there is no server.

Your files

The audio you copy into Kasset stays in the app's own folder on your device, visible in the Files app. Folders you point Kasset at elsewhere on the device are read in place. Playlists, listening positions, generated covers and lyrics files are stored on the device only. Nothing is uploaded, and Kasset never writes into your audio files.

Covers made on the device

When a song has no artwork, Kasset can make a cover. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence this uses Apple's on-device Image Playground model; the title and a few mood words derived from the sound are processed on the phone and never leave it. On any iPhone, a cover can be painted from an analysis of the audio itself. Both run locally. You can turn covers off in the app's menu.

Online lyrics lookup, if you switch it on

Kasset reads lyrics from your files' tags and from .lrc files beside them without any network. Separately, the lyrics screen has a switch, off by default, to look up lyrics online from LRCLIB, a community lyrics service. When it is on, Kasset sends the song's title, artist, album and length tolrclib.net once per song and caches the result on the device. No identifier accompanies the request. Turn the switch off and nothing is sent.

This website

The pages you are reading are served by Firebase Hosting and use Google Analytics 4 to count page views, which pages get read and roughly where readers come from. There is no advertising here and no profiles are built.

• Until you accept, nothing is stored on your device. Analytics storage starts denied; the visit is counted as an anonymous ping with no cookie and no identifier.
• If you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies so a returning visit is not counted as a new person. Google processes that data on our behalf.
• Advertising signals stay off permanently, accepted or not.
• You can change your choice at any time.

Children

Kasset does not collect data from anyone, including children, and shows no ads.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it.
